Hajime's Sketchbook

Greetings. I am Hajime. My reputation is that of a master tattoo artist in Chinatown, but I like to think of myself as a well-rounded artist of many disciplines.

When I began my internship as a tattoo artist my colleagues and I did extensive study in drawing before getting to work with the needles. We carried sketchbooks with us everywhere, and documented everything we saw. We drew still life, the human form, landscapes, and architecture.

With the sketchbook drawings I have created over the years, I am going to show you the basics of making beautiful artwork. Check back here to see how I go about drawing the things from my daily life. It may not sound that interesting, but then again you don’t know the kinds of things I see every day.
